A Love Letter For You. Stephen Powers aka ESPO.

This project was done in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program + sponsored by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Exhibitions Initiative.

I love Powers and everything he does... his work is stylistically fresh and also meaningful.

Stephen Powers. The Church Of The Open Tab.

The Church Of The Open Tab is Steve Powers' new project at the White Flag Projects gallery in St. Louis. 'Here music is religion, the altar is a jukebox, and the sinners saints(...) musicans that led tortured and tormented lives, but in those lives attained a divinity through the music they created', says Steve. A large portion of the gallery's parking lot has become a snapshot of the American street- on one is a cement skate ramp. 'Above that is a collection of phrases from the american landscape that depict a world that is running out of room with a cliff fast approaching. The final sign, EVERYTHING IS NOW FREE, reminds us that a world in ruins will offer us another chance to make something more civilized than this current civilization.'
