He is author of four monographs: Outside the Dream, Pursuing the Dream, and The Black Panthers (Aperture), and Transforming Lives (Star Bright Books). Shames wrote and directed two videos: Friends of the Children and Children of Northern Uganda. Steve is represented by Steven Kasher Gallery + Polaris Images, NY.
