"Primarily my art is about my spiritual journey (...) Wassily Kandinsky's book Concerning the Spiritual in Art sparked my interest in this topic (...) The artist's that I take an interest in are Rick Amor, Louise Hearman, Edward Hopper, Rembrant, Caspar David Friedrich and JMW Turner. All of these artists use light as one of the main tools to create mood and atmosphere in their paintings and this is what inspires my work also."

Ed Viberg immigrated from Sweden to Saskatchewan in 1914 at age 7. In his 20s he became a harness maker, and eventually opened his own boot + harness business. In 1970 the Viberg Boot factory relocated to Victoria, BC.
