David Wright. Photographer. Maine.
In 2009 David Wright went to northern Uganda photographing for A River Blue, a non-profit arts empowerment project for the children of internally-displaced persons (IDP) camps. The project is funded/overseen by Barefoot Workshops, a non-profit, media-based educational and development organization. They've set up a rehabilitation/vocational training center, with the help of the local government, for the vulnerable youth in the surrounding community. The students not only learn trades but are also offered psychological counseling to help deal with the trauma endured from the violence/civil unrest in Uganda.
