I love Greenfield-Sanders’ parachute paintings... they're are based on vintage WWII and Korean War era images... through this series she explores her own and borrowed memory of the war... “I was drawn to the parachute images both for their formal simplicity and for their metaphoric resonance in a time of war. The title of her series “Against the Fall” is a literal translation of the late 18th century French word "Parachute" (para 'protection against'+chute 'the fall')” -Sanders.
