Mary Ellen Mark. Photojournalist. NYC.

Mary Ellen Mark is one of the most influential woman photographers of all time (very Diane Arbus-esque) and has made some of America’s most iconic images in a career spanning more than 30 years. After attending art school in her home of Philadelphia, she became a unit photographer on movie sets (worked with Fellini!). She's contributed to the NY Times, LIFE, Rolling Stone, Vogue, and Vanity Fair. She has had 16 photo collections of her work published, Exposure is her most recent retrospective book by Phaidon.
