The 1st shoe model was inspired by Brazilian volley shoes from the 1970s. Veja trainers are made with organic cotton+natural, wild latex (soles) from Amazonia. The cotton comes from a cooperative of small Brazilian producers. The Amazon is the only place on earth where the Hevea Trees (for latex) grow wild- no deforestation occurs to get the materials. Manufactured in Brazil with respect to the workers rights. Storage and deliveries are done by a French social association which helps marginalized workers to go back to the work market.
