Heaps Decent, a not-for-profit organization, is a transnational network of musicians, producers, promoters and other music industry professionals committed to engaging creative, passionate youth from indigenous and underprivileged backgrounds throughout Australia. Founded in 2007 by Australian DJs Andrew Levins + Nina Agzarian with DJ/producer Diplo, Heaps Decent has spent the last 2 years hosting music workshops in youth centres across NSW. The partnership with Diplo’s Mad Decent label lead to workshop collaborations with M.I.A., A-Trak, Lady Sovereign, Spank Rock and Radioclit. The plan is to establishing an online music creation and collaboration site to further sustain the connection between young people, artists and industry.
